Rainbow Plates!

Smash the bricks. Chase the points. Survive the secret Golden Round.

About the game

Rainbow Plates! is a fast, colorful brick-breaker in the classic Arkanoid/Breakout tradition, wrapped in a glowing galaxy backdrop full of drifting stars and nebulas. Bounce a ball off your plate to smash rows of rainbow-colored bricks, rack up points, and clear your way through 14 increasingly tricky levels — all playable free, right in your browser, with no download and no account needed.

How to play

Keep the ball alive by catching it with your plate before it falls past the bottom of the screen. Every brick the ball touches is destroyed and adds a point to your score — clear every brick on a level to advance to the next one. Lose all three lives and you'll land on that level's leaderboard, where you can see how your run time stacks up before jumping back in.

Chase the points, race the clock

Every brick the ball touches adds a point to your score, and the pace only ramps up from there: every 30 points speeds every ball in play up a little more, so later levels demand quicker reflexes than earlier ones. A stopwatch in the corner tracks how long you've survived on the current level, since your time is what gets compared against the sample leaderboard when a run ends.

The secret Golden Round

Clear all 13 regular levels — that's exactly 1,000 points banked by the time Level 13 falls — and you'll unlock Level 14: the Golden Round, a finale field of 168 golden bricks (12 rows by 14 columns), each worth the same one point as every other brick in the game. It plays for keeps: golden banana skins now fall from the sky and cost you a life if they hit your plate, and this is the only level where you'll ever see sparkly bricks — breaking one instantly releases three extra balls at once, a burst of chaos that can help you clear the field fast or overwhelm your plate if you're not ready for it. Clear the entire Golden Round and you'll reach the victory screen, with your final score and Golden Round completion time on display.

Leaderboard

Whenever you run out of lives, Rainbow Plates! shows a leaderboard for the level you were on, comparing your run time against a set of sample rivals — a fun way to gauge how fast you cleared it. This leaderboard is generated locally in your browser each time; nothing about your play is uploaded, saved, or tracked, so it resets fresh every time you open the game.
